TIBCO Brings the Power of Next Generation Real-Time BI to BPM

10/11/2009

TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX) today announced the general availability of TIBCO iProcess™ Spotfire®, a solution that adds a rich layer of next generation business intelligence (BI) to business process management (BPM).

ebizQ received the following:

With iProcess™ Spotfire®, business users have the unique ability to create personalized, real-time process reports, and analyze and modify processes in the context of the business for immediate, positive impacts on business performance.

When enterprises leverage BPM software to model and automate core business processes, they need to be able to monitor and continuously improve those processes. Traditional BPM reporting tools provide a “one size fits all” dashboard that fails to take into account the needs of different users. Competitive pressures, combined with user expectations for real-time information, require faster access to the right information.

Targeted at all levels of business users – from the professionals, who need to understand the operational aspects of the process performance, to business analysts and managers who need to analyze and dive deep into the data, or executives who need to see the “big picture” – the solution features:

  • Personalized process reporting and analytics: Rather than using static dashboards to display business processes, iProcess Spotfire uses customized templates to display reports and analyses that have been tailored for each specific user. These personalized interfaces empower users to make better, faster decisions.

  • Contextualized process performance: Users are able to extract process performance data generated by the BPM and combine it with business data from other applications. This allows users to place the process performance in its full business context, whereas traditional BPM reporting only reports on the process performance data generated by the BPM.

  • Self-service: Instead of relying on IT to create custom reports, iProcess Spotfire enables business users to customize their own reports and analyze the metrics themselves. By empowering the business users directly, companies can save time and money, while simultaneously ensuring that changes in the business process performance can be identified and acted upon by the most appropriate people, in the most efficient manner.

"TIBCO is constantly striving to provide our BPM customers with the most highly-sophisticated business intelligence without sacrificing ease-of-use," said Rourke McNamara, director of Product Marketing at TIBCO. "With the integration of TIBCO iProcess™ and TIBCO Spotfire®, we are providing our customers with invaluable business insight and the ability to visualize and adjust their business environments in real time, ultimately increasing operational efficiency."

In addition to the iProcess Spotfire add-on bundle, TIBCO today also announced further enhancements to its BPM offering to include TIBCO Business Studio™ 3.2 and TIBCO iProcess™ Workspace Lite 1.0. The structure of an organization is a key aspect in the behavior of business processes and how people perform work. TIBCO Business Studio 3.2 provides new features to allow customers to visually define their organization’s structure and the relationships between the different components within their organization. iProcess™ Workspace Lite is a lightweight HTML workspace client focused on the core activities that process participants need to perform to interact with executing business processes and satisfies the requirements of disability discrimination legislation (e.g. section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973). A simple user interface enables the product to be used more easily by those with impaired vision and/or fine motor control difficulties.

TIBCO iProcess Spotfire, TIBCO Business Studio 3.2, and TIBCO iProcess Workspace Lite are now available to the public. To learn more, visit www.tibco.com for details.

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
