Nastel Technologies, a premier global provider of business transaction performance (BTP) solutions for mission-critical applications spanning both the distributed and mainframe tiers, today announced it has enhanced its solution, AutoPilot WebSphere MQ Smart Plug-in for HP Operations Manager (HPOM).

Nastel has updated its HP certified solution, also called AutoPilot SPI for WebSphere MQ to support the latest release from HP, release 8.1. AutoPilot SPI for WebSphere MQ for HPOM (marketed by both HP and Nastel) is a tool for monitoring and management of IBM's WebSphere MQ message queuing software. Taken from an HP Operations Manager management perspective, the platform enables its users to operate a single product to control their entire network and applications, and centralize management of all WebSphere MQ nodes.
In addition to the IBM WebSphere MQ environments HP monitors with its agents, Nastel's solution adds support for IBM z/OS, IBM AS/400, OpenVMS and Tandem. Nastel now supports IBM WebSphere MQ release 7.x, the latest version from IBM, thus enhancing its strong support for both distributed and mainframe IBM environments. Improvements include: a new simplified installation and new threshold monitors for distributed and z/OS. In addition, the new version supports enhanced capabilities for configuration management.
Nastel's AutoPilot M6 Suite, featuring the newest addition to the product family - AutoPilot TransactionWorks - provides unique 360-degree situational awareness of the entire IT environment, encompassing both transactional and operational data in a unified business context. AutoPilot TransactionWorks is the only solution providing auto-discovery and performance management of composite, multi-tiered transactions that span from the mainframe to distributed middleware to the application servers to the database and back -- positioning AutoPilot as an industry leader.
