Motio and Vitria Deliver Unified Dashboard and OI Capabilities to IBM Cognos Users

06/29/2009

Vitria Technology, Inc., today announced a partnership with Motio, Inc., that will enable IBM Cognos users to seamlessly integrate their Business Intelligence content along with other data sources into customizable and flexible dashboards generated by Vitria’s Operational Intelligence (OI) software.

ebizQ received the following:

Together, Motio’s MotioADF and Vitria’s M3O Operations Book enable organizations with existing IBM Cognos 8 deployments to quickly surface powerful analytics by combining BI Content with other operational and business data sources into a single unified dashboard. Vitria’s M3O Suite delivers a powerful Operational Intelligence platform that analyzes business activities in real time and enables users to take action before opportunities have faded or problems have escalated.

“Utilizing MotioADF as a bridge, IBM Cognos customers can now use the power of Vitria’s M3O Operations Book to easily and efficiently pull their BI content into rich, versatile and custom M3O dashboards, side by side with data from many other sources. This allows customers to fully leverage their existing investment in Cognos,” said Lance Hankins, CTO of Motio.

At its core, Vitria’s M3O Operations Book delivers an easy-to-use Web 2.0 UI for business users to define KPIs and dashboards and real-time continuous analytics of business and operational data for clear insight into operational performance. Users can “mash up” and analyze information from many disparate sources to gain critical visibility and insight into their business in real-time, with increased control over operations and the ability to act before opportunities have faded or problems have escalated.

MotioADF is a proven rapid application development framework targeted at IBM Cognos customers who want to extend, customize or embed IBM Cognos 8. MotioADF enables them to build custom, enterprise-grade BI centric applications in a fraction of the time that they would normally take.

“MotioADF makes it possible to seamlessly integrate IBM Cognos report services with our Operational Intelligence capabilities, using flexible, multifaceted dashboards that integrate continuous feeds from multiple sources,” said Vitria Senior Vice President Bob Meindl.

The Vitria M3O/MotioADF combination is initially targeted at customers who have information spanning multiple, disparate sources that they want to directly analyze with their IBM Cognos data, as well as those seeking to surface IBM Cognos BI content directly into M3O-based applications.
