Jive Unveils its Enterprise Cloud Computing Strategy with the Launch of Jive Express

05/04/2009

Today, Jive, the Social Business Software leader, unveiled its Enterprise Cloud Computing Strategy.

ebizQ received the following:

In addition, Jive introduced Jive Express, a platform for businesses to get enterprise-class Social Business Software (SBS) up and running with zero upfront investment and no specialized skills needed for deployment.

Applications are moving to the cloud and enterprises are following. Merrill Lynch predicts the addressable market for Cloud Computing is $160B, including $95B in business and productivity applications. Jive's industry-leading Enterprise Cloud Computing Strategy embraces the recent breakthroughs in virtualization technologies to create the first ever enterprise-ready Social Business Software application built entirely in the cloud.

The three key elements of Jive's cloud computing strategy are:

  • Cost-efficiency: Virtualization drives amazing levels of cost efficiency, allowing scalable single-tenant architecture to be a reality

  • Enterprise Security: The single-tenant architecture makes it possible for Jive to provide maximum security and data isolation

  • Flexibility: The single-tenant architecture also makes it possible for enterprises to have complete control and customization, as well as move on --or off-- the cloud as needed

Jive's approach to enterprise cloud computing is not only strategic to the company, but also in-line with industry analyst observations. Rob Koplowitz at Forrester Research stated, "Putting productivity and collaboration software in a cloud-based model has clear benefits - it's potentially much less expensive, easier to manage a single source of the truth, and is available anywhere, at any time." ("Get Ready for Collaboration in the Cloud," Forrester Research, March 18, 2008)

"Cloud computing is a massive technology trend and is hugely important to our customers," said Matt Tucker, CTO, Jive Software. "We are committed to delivering solutions consistent with what enterprises and, in particular, what CIOs require, be that on-premise, hosted, or cloud-based Social Business Software."

Jive in The Cloud - Jive Express Built on Amazon Web Service's (AWS) platform, Jive Express provides enterprises with an immediate, turnkey way to launch SBS in their company without the cumbersome hurdles associated with traditional IT deployments. With no upfront investment required and nothing to download or install, Jive Express enables enterprises to quickly and easily build an internal employee community to support a variety of departmental team initiatives while ensuring fast, reliable and secure access to the organization's most important information and conversations.

More about Jive Express Jive Express delivers:

  • Single-tenant architecture and data isolation, with multi-tenant efficiency
