Software AG Extends Vision of SOA Governance with SOALink Cookbook

01/22/2009

Software AG today announced the release of its SOALink Cookbook, a guide to how CentraSite ActiveSOA can smooth the way to a successful SOA adoption. The Cookbook is a practical reference for CentraSite integration, providing “recipes” that can be used to achieve rapid business value today while laying the groundwork for future capabilities within an organization’s SOA.

ebizQ received the following:

SOALink is a framework for interoperability between CentraSite and various SOA infrastructure components. SOALink consists of a set of standards, APIs, and extension points available in the newly released CentraSite ActiveSOA. The SOALink Cookbook enables users to leverage these extensions into production-ready SOA implementations.

“The SOALink Cookbook is a convenient and useful resource that illustrates the achievements by our active, robust, and growing CentraSite Community,” said Dr. Peter Kürpick, Chief Product Officer and member of the Executive Board, Software AG. “As a result of the integration work done by members of the community, including partners and consultants, we are able to present proven examples and techniques for other developers to use.”

“Not only is CentraSite ActiveSOA the best SOA governance product we have seen, but the SOALink Cookbook is a resource like no other we have ever been presented with by any other technology organization,” said Peter Cole, President and CTO of Green Hat, an SOA testing technology leader. Green Hat is a CentraSite partner that has consistently delivered success with Software AG’s SOA solutions.

“It has made the job of integration simple, straightforward and streamlined, enabling Green Hat to launch GH Tester for CentraSite in record time,” Cole added. “Resources like these are essential for companies that wish to cultivate a rich partner ecosystem and remain at the forefront of their sector.”

The SOALink Cookbook:

  • Enables SOA vendors to seamlessly pre-integrate their SOA solutions

  • Leverages the world’s largest active vendor community for SOA Governance – CentraSite Community

  • Provides out-the-box interoperability making SOA governance more invisible and autonomic

“The SOALink Cookbook shows how to leverage key CentraSite ActiveSOA capabilities, including integration with quality management and development tools, making it easier for end users and partners to roll out integration and accelerate adoption,” said Dr. Kürpick. “It also highlights CentraSite’s ability to interoperate with externally managed assets to build out a lifecycle that can be automated using ActiveSOA.”

The SOALINK Cookbook can be accessed online at http://communities.softwareag.com/centrasite (see link in right column). Users can also view CentraSite integrations, collaborate in the discussion forum and find other information assets.

CentraSite ActiveSOA is the industry’s most comprehensive and advanced platform for SOA governance and lifecycle management, providing management of SOA assets across the lifecycle of design time, runtime, and change time. It builds upon a fully unified registry/repository encompassing industry-recognized standards such as a UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration)-compliant registry and a fully extensible JAXR (Java API for XML Registries)-compliant repository for maintaining associated metadata and policies.

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
