ActionBase Introduces New ActionBridge Module that Lowers Costs and Increases Visibility

11/17/2008

ActionBase, a provider of Human Process Management Solutions (HPMS), today announced ActionBridge, a new module which connects people, information and systems. ActionBridge lowers organizational costs and increases the overall visibility of the entire process lifecycle.

ebizQ received the following:

Many business processes include people outside a working group, department or outside the organization. ActionBridge helps companies break process collaboration boundaries by letting users connect and collaborate with anyone who is part of the process, including people from outside the organization. ActionBridge starts where other process management systems end, and provides managers with visibility over the entire process no matter where the actions are triggered. The system also kicks off a process originating as an e-mail message from external applications and allows users to follow these processes to completion.

ActionBridge highlights include:

  • Connect with anyone: Process owners gain full visibility over the entire process even if those participants are external to the organization. ActionBridge connects business partners (B2B) in complex joint ventures and multipart projects, as well as suppliers, contractors, consultants and customers.

  • Initiate processes from any e-mail group: Initiates any process by managing designated e-mail group accounts (roles), including requests @ yourorg.com or sales @ yourorg.com. ActionBridge launches a managed process for handling the messages received in these mailboxes. ActionBridge is the first solution that automates these e-mail triggered processes and follows up and drills down on the entire process. Until now, people had limited capabilities to maximize these opportunities and lacked control over how e-mails were followed up.

  • Integration with external applications: Identifies e-mail messages triggered from various lines of business applications and allows people who are not connected to those applications to follow up and execute those required actions. ActionBridge then updates the initiated application or the relevant user, providing end to end visibility across the entire process which started in one system, continued in another and then completed in the original system.

"Until now people had limited capabilities and could only manage the structured part of the process. With ActionBridge, enterprises can manage the ad hoc part of the process that was previously managed through e-mails and now allows stakeholders to automatically be updated on the progress of each process until its completion," said Eyal Maor, CEO of ActionBase. "ActionBridge is a significant industry milestone because it goes beyond today's manual and e-mail-based collaboration limitations by expanding the company's visibility into outside systems, applications and people to enable follow up and insight into the overall process."

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
