RUP for SOA Methodology
Takeaway: While the RUP method is solution orientated, you also need a top-down view to SOA.  SOMA takes a top-down and bottom up approach, where the top down approach analyzes business domains and breaks them down into business processes, sub-processes, and use cases.  SOMA also examines legacy systems and components in a bottom up approach, which is the definition of a useful service. OASIS SOA defines a service decomposition approach, starting at the business functional level.  Roch typically uses a hybrid SOMA and OASIS approach.
