TAKEAWAY: Dan Kaminsky, a well-known IT security researcher, warns
the Domain Name Server flaw can bite companies SOA-enabling their applications -- and with everyone jumping on the SOA bandwagon nowadays, that means all companies should take note. Apparently, DNS address queries are embedded in a wide variety of
applications and services that had not entered the conversation
previously. The DNS flaw can affect any system that uses the Internet, including e-mail, FTP and SOA enviroments, Kaminsky
noted, since all of these systems use DNS.
