Three New Startups Plan to Offer Security as a Service
TAKEAWAY: Three startups launched yesterday to address the need for new kind of anti-malware offerings via the SaaS model. Two are founded by former executives from CipherTrust -- including Purewire and Zscaler. Purewire will offer a service to classify websites on the fly and analyze user reputations, and Zscaler will offer a multitenant service model to handle up to 250,000 transactions per second. The other startup called NovaShield has an offering to detect malware via specification-based modeling, and the company hopes to take over where signature signing leaves off.
