eBay to Throw Hat into Cloud Computing Ring?
TAKEAWAY: According to reports, eBay is looking to hire a "director of cloud computing engineering" to lead a cloud computing initiative, suggesting that the company may be preparing plans to launch its own flavor of cloud computing services. The company currently is involved in Web 2.0 type technologies through its owned properties, such as Skype and PayPal, but it remains to be seen what specific involvement the company hopes to have in the cloud computing field.
