Innovating the Enterprise with Web 2.0

David Mitchell Smith, VP & Gartner Fellow

The Web has gained renewed visibility in the mainstream and trade press, led by excitement generated by a relatively new term: Web 2.0. Much of the visibility is being driven by innovations in consumer markets. These innovations permeate enterprises through the process of consumerization, largely via the Web. This keynote presentation will examine how the enterprise can benefit from the two megatrends of Web advancement and consumerization, which are inextricably linked, and feed and amplify each other.

What you will learn:
  • What discontinuities are driving the Web?
  • What is Web 2.0?
  • Is Web 2.0 only for teeny boppers and Internet addicts or will it benefit the enterprise?
  • What's beyond Web 2.0 (hint: it isn't Web 3.0)?
