ebizQ and TechTarget will be hosting a jam-packed, full-day session as part of its SOA and Application Integration Action conference, scheduled for Tuesday, October 5th.

Randy Heffner, VP and principle analyst with Forrester Research will kick off the day's events with a discussion on "Extending Your SOA Foundation into an Effective Business Architecture."  Randy will explains how a well-designed Business Capability Architecture based on your SOA foundation can help ensure successful, ongoing alignment of priorities for improving business results and the technologies your business needs to achieve those results.

Randy will be followed by Dr. Chris Harding, leader of the SOA Working Group at The Open Group, who will talk about "Finding Flexible Approaches to SOA Governance." Chris will explore which SOA activities require special governance; a generic model for SOA governance; how to customize the model for your enterprise; and more.

The force of nature known as David Linthicum, who is CTO of the Bick Group, will then kick off a noon (Eastern Time) session on "Making SOA, Data Integration, and Cloud Computing Work Together." Dave will talk briefly about these concepts, and then go right into solutions that you can leverage today to make SOA, cloud computing, and data integration work the first time within your enterprise.

One of the original proponents of the SOA approach, Roy Schulte, VP and distinguished analyst at Gartner, will keynote in the afternoon, with a topic entitled "Don't Build Yesterday's SOA." Roy will examine the evolving understanding of SOA; trade-offs in architecture and middleware; overly optimistic views on SOA; and misguided objections to SOA.

The day will wrap up with an impassioned and informative panel discussion on "Building-Out Integration Infrastructure with SOA." Panelists will discuss their experiences in the field dealing with successful integrations. Session considers organizational influences on high-profile project and program outcomes. What works? How is responsibility handled? What type of talent works best where? These and other questions will be addressed.

By the way, if hearing what these industry luminaries have to say isn't enough, registrants will also be entered into a drawing to win a Sony Cyber-shot digital camera, or one of three Amazon.com gift cards.

Be sure to register and join the upcoming SOA and Application Integration Action conference, scheduled for Tuesday, October 5th.
