Service oriented architecture has been around for some time, but there is still a great deal of confusion about what it is, why it is, and what it's supposed to accomplish for organizations.
For those seeking a clear explanation to explain to their business, or for self-edification, ebizQ colleague Beth Gold-Bernstein narrates a two-and-a-half-minute video clip on the essence of SOA. Check it out!

Joe and Beth, this is one of the best and laconic presentations of what SOA is! Thank you very much.
I understand the volume of the subject and time limits but, IMO, I would added a couple of words about SOA standards and pointed that service orientation (probably, not SOA)has capabilities not only agile IT with Business, but also agile Business with Market. Otherwise, SOA in the presentation still appears as an exclusive IT 'thing' or bottom-up approach in Enterprise Architecture (see TOGAF definition of the latter)
SOA is a creative approach as it is an architectural approach. It's not a scientific..it's arts.Wise people can truly create different kinds. And SOA is one of the many artistic creation of creative people. There are many successful stories that inspires us to transcend limitations and foresee what we can do. Just like security of homes, business etc, they are also given importance.Business alarm systems can be another work of art not just a product of technology.
