Gian Trotta of ebizQ recently interviewed Lyndsay Wise, a BI market commentator, in a neat podcast about how business intelligence is making a big mark on the midmarket.
In the podcast, Wise and Trotta go over the literal explosion of choices in the BI space -- especially through the SaaS delivery mode. Wise mentions the benefits and pitfalls of having numerous choices. The plethora of vendors out there means there's a solution for nearly every type of customer, but at the same time, having plentiful vendors usually means plentiful consolidations in the near future, so the future of each smaller vendor might be uncertain.
