Phil Wainewright in his blog post made his 5 predictions for SaaS which is actually a coverage of blog post posted by Dan Farber. Here is our thoughts on his blog post.
ZDNet SaaS:"The blogosphere will turn against Google for failing to launch a hosted Office challenge to Microsoft. Meanwhile Amazon will quietly carry on expanding its presence in the on-demand market without anyone noticing. "
SaaSWeek:Blogosphere will not turn against Google, why will they turn against google?.In my opinion Google has no intention to host a application like Microsoft Office in near future.
ZDNet SaaS:The on-demand model will entrench itself in a range of application areas unnoticed by the mainstream software vendors, including corporate purchasing, HR management, travel and expense management and website marketing and analytics.
SaaSWeek:Mainstream software vendors have already started investing in SaaS related companies and helping their partners to build application on a subscription basics.Netsuite( investment made by Oracle's CEO), IBM Partner's SaaS Showcase, IBM has own list of website marketing and analytics product. is he refering to any other mainstream sofware vendor we don't know.
We agree Phil Wainewright made a very good post but not his predictions.
