On today's podcast, I am spending a few minutes describing some of the ins and outs of market research. There have been numerous reports on open source software (OSS) that have come out in the last few months and the background in this 10-minute recording can help readers and listeners use the research findings, and--more important--compare the various findings.
Not coincidentally, I am also chairing an Open Source roundtable here on ebizQ on August 20. It's called An Open Source Market Update. This session will present--in a question/answer format--an overview of ebizQ and other research findings and go into more detail than I can on a podcast. The panelists include Dominic Sartorio of the Open Solutions Alliance, Jim Zemlin of the Linux Foundation and Ross Altman of Sun. The panel discusses opportunities, risks, and best practices for adopting Open Source technology for BPM, SOA (or both) as well as other important user needs.
Sign up for the August 20 Roundtable and you won't have to sort through all of the OSS research on your own.
