It is serving as a mechanism of data transfer and communication between multiple computer systems, allowing a whole new wave of innovation to occur that is transforming the industry in new and exciting ways. Organizations have the potential to gain by selecting the proper sets of information contained internally and making them available to the outside world. This can be done in a controlled and measured way with zero friction to those applications that can then leverage that data and enable it to be a source of value creation.
