Hello to my readers,
In my previous position, we used to discuss the amount of integration that could be imposed on our customers.
The idea was that anyone that will buy our software product will need to integrate it because it would be a big organization with many other systems.
The basic concern is valid. No one want to impose too much effort on the customer. That might drive them away.
Far away from the basic idea is the reality. The reality is that big organizations invest in integration because this is their only way to implement Best of Breed products.
So if you have a unique or leading product, do not worry about integration.
That will not be an obstacle.
From the other hand, if SAP or Oracle provides a ERP, the customer will always assume that all the other products they provide will integrate seamlessly.
What is your experience? please share.
