K. Mani Chandy and Roy Schulte have a new book out on Event Processing, which may become the new definitive text on designing IT for the agile enterprise. According to the authors of Event Processing: Designing IT Systems for Agile Companies, "The goal of this book is to make the knowledge of the event-processing design discipline more widely available. If you understand how event processing really works, you'll design business processes and IT systems that will offer your company better timeliness, agility, and information availability."
