We have all heard the phrase that a picture is worth a thousand words. But you probably haven't thought about that phrase in conjunction with governance.
Not surprisingly, someone has. In fact, in
his blog, Ed Konczal shows some great examples of how organizations are using graphics to help convey their corporate governance strategy. For example, check out his reference to
Sharp's corporate website, and its overview of governance. Not only is it clearly stated in text, but they've created a clear, but comprehensive graphic of their governance structure. It's impressive.
Konczal goes on to highlight a few other examples of corporate governance graphics, although the Sharp example is the best.
These examples are a great way to take another approach to corporate and IT governance, and provide manager with examples of options for building bridges between IT and business leaders, as well as highlighting just how much information can be conveyed quickly in forms other than text.
