Very simply, in one sentence, how would you make the business case for BPM today?

    The best business case for BPM is the one that sells it without using the word Process, silly acronym or vendor hyped term.

    Making the most of all your assets and empowering your users

    That fits nicely with APG, not so sure for traditional BPM

  • Add up the potential benefits of being more effective in outcomes, more efficient in execution, less bureaucratic in governance, more context-sensitive in decision-making, more goal-oriented in actions, and delivering empowerment to the people who KNOW the business!

    The potential benefits are so staggering that it is a no-brainer! The problem is that hardly anyone properly considers the true cost of implementation and optimization, which according to Forrester study is more than double the original cost each year.

    Process management makes only sense if after building an architectured infrastructure, the business is mostly in control and can do as they wanna do! Suddenly, you don't even need to calculate a business case at all.

  • Reduced time to market, investment protection, and overall improved ROI.

  • Without some form of "BPM", you have no Control or ownership of any part of the business. Simple. As we cut managers and supervisors (oversight measurement), we lose control. If it's not humans, we need computers, automation, monitoring and BPM.

    It's OK if your a 50 man company where most people know in the organization what's going on, good and bad.

    However, the larger the company, the more control you stand to lose as to what parts of the business are doing as you expect. No stake-holders of the business can afford not to have visibility into all the parts of the process. In many cases (healthcare/financials etc.) it's a compliance mandate.

    Call it BPM or something else but without "deep" visibility, you have no control.

  • BPM provides control over and visibility into your business enabling savings and improvements through automation, analysis and optimization.

  • Making work easier, faster and more valuable for millions of people

  • What was your business problem? A one-size-fits-all business case for BPM doesn't makes much sense to me.

  • Business processes that are well understood, predictable and continuously improving will drive customer delight and fuel business growth.

    - quickly make them execute
    - continuously improve your business

  • Stay ahead of your competition through enhancement of and visibility into the core business processes that provide your competitive differentiation and make your company unique.

  • Shape up or ship out. Sir.

  • "Discipline is doing what you don't want to do when you don't want to do it."

  • BPM? Yeah, we need that like a whale needs a hole in its head.
