March 27, 2007Analysts, programmers and users
Tim Bryce had an interesting post on the ratio of analysts to programmers. This made me think - what would you get if you were not only focusing on analysis and design, but also using business rules to manage decisions in your applications. What kinds of ratios might you get?
- You would have fewer people writing code and many fewer maintaining it
- You would have some programmers and some analysts writing business rules
- You could have some business users managing rules (if you built a suitable environment for them)
- You might have to add business people as they now control their business as it is represented in the system
