January 25, 2006BlogNotes on my blogroll
To finish up the BlogNotes, check out what's below the Google ad block in the right sidebar. The first three sections are generated by Movable Type (the software that is used to create this blog), and show a list of recent posts, an archive of posts by month, and an archive of posts by category.
At the bottom of the sidebar, you'll find my blogroll: a list of blogs that I read and that I think might interest my readers. I use Bloglines as an RSS reader, and the blogroll is generated directly (via a bit of Javascript) from the public folders within my Bloglines subscriptions. That means that my blogroll is always a direct view into what I'm reading. (If you don't see the blogroll, or some of the other things that I've described in the Blognotes such as the Technorati search, that might mean that you have Javascript disabled in your browser.)
Since I have these organized by folders within Bloglines, you see three divisions of blog links, separated by the folder title: "BPM et al.", which is concerned with my main areas of focus (BPM, enterprise architecture, business intelligence, business rules), "Other IT", which contains links to IT-related blogs that I find interesting as background reading, and "Other Reads", which is light technical, humour and link aggregation sites like Boing Boing. I'm constantly adding and removing blogs from the list, so check it out often.
