BPM in Action

Whenever I think the subject of my blog posts—business process management (BPM)— is really something important (and hopefully useful to you readers), the market steps in and kicks me in the teeth. The market in this case is represented by a blogger called The Technology Age posting on the digitalpoints.com web site in April 2008 and picked up by a site called “Make Money at Home” on September 15, 2008.

It supposedly lists 500 "High Paying Google Adsense Keywords.” Here's a sample from near the bottom of the list:

$28.51 landlords insurance

BPM is pretty far down the list right in there between asbestos, personal injury and tax attorneys but at least rated more highly than no equity loan, botox certification, and “mortgage for people with bad credit.” (Remember this list in its original form predates Wall St.'s "Black Sunday" by months.)

I have no idea the source or the methodology. “The Technology Age” links back to a site written in what I think is Arabic (only because it in turn links back to a site arab-co.com).

On one hand, this list roots me in reality.

On the other hand, always looking for the glass half full, the only other information technology term that seems to make the whole list of 500 is laboratory information management systems. It and BPM stand out among a lot of insurance quotes and references to poker and lasik surgery.

Go figure.
