Andrew is right that the BPM discipline needs to go "mainstream" not just as he said the "opening an account process" etc. He touches on the need for managers needing better measurement which results inf better decision making. I would add that managers and users should work together to build next generation "BPM" applications to bring real empowerment to users yet comfort to managers.
Good listening and hope that IT people understand future must be user led with in built flexibility reflecting constant change in financial services.
