A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to chat with Richard Soley, CEO of OMG. OMG is an international, open membership, not-for-profit computer industry consortium.

Soley told me all about OMG's new Business Ecology Iniative (BEI), which is "focused on erasing the artificial lines between business and Information Technology (IT)," so that IT can finally become a vital asset (see press release on ebizQ here).

In our podcast, Soley covers the ins and outs of BEI, as well as explains what exactly "ecology" is -- and how it will affect CIOs and IT organizations now in this tough economy and in the future.

The book "Ladder to SOE" has exactly the same objective as BEI: "focused on erasing the artificial lines between business and Information Technology (IT)" based on the concept of service orientation.

The book is available from http://michaelpoulinssite.homestead.com/My-Book.html

ebizQ’s expert blog team covers a broad range of BPM, business integration, business analytics/monitoring, collaboration, content and related issues.
