For security purists, SOA is like inviting Little Yellow Jacket into a china shop (if you haven't figured, Little Yellow Jacket is that famous bucking bull that launched many a bull rider hat over spurs). I use that comparison because the IT profession and bull riding are such similar fields.
Now you probably think I wrote that in jest, but if you've talked to a security professional recently, you'd know that trying to secure the applications makes bull riding seem, well, OK, it still makes bull riding seem pretty nutso. But security pros crave stability and solidity, and often SOA is just about the opposite of that.
